Welcome to Predestined Persona Infinity
Burning New Update!
Doot de doot!

Long time no update, guys. I finished my film and it turned out to be quite epic. You can find a trailer for it here. It's a rock opera about a hero that defeats the giants of heavens and such with a run time of about two minutes. When I submitted it to my school's Open Show, I was selected to have it shown at the Producer's Show, which is my department's show for showing people in the industry, meaning people must've liked it, yeah. SO FUCK YEAH, GOD SLAYER, YEAAAAAH okay. My friend is working on a HD 720p version of it which I will upload later along with some pictures and behind the scenes commentary or something for the page later. Look forward to it!

Anyway, the main feature of tihs latest update is actually the new captcha system my friend Phil developed to combat the crippling amount of spam I've been getting lately. Honestly, in a day I get up to 50-100 spams messages, even after setting the comments so that same commenter can't leave a message within 30 minutes from each other. It's absurd. Hopefully this new system will work out and everything will work out. One drawback of setting everything up was that I lost all my previous comments so sorry to everyone that left me amusing messages. I'll remember them in my heart always. ;___;

So as to not make this update a complete waste, here's a picture I drew today in class:

Metal Gear/Solid
Day six~!

Man, I want to be at GDC too and hobnob with the relevant developers and fuck around and shit. I want to get a joooooooooob! ;___;
Maybe one day I can be there as a developer and not as some peon journalastic lacky fool. Also, I need to work on my interviewing skills as I know nothing about interviewing except for what would only be relevant to me. Maybe my angle for going to GDC would be to interview developers from an artist's point of view with concerns in aesthetics and design choices? Eh.

Anyway, eat some Snake.

The first page are copied off of official pictures with some doodles inbetween. The second one is just all out Snake on Snake action. Hot.

So continuing with the Type-Mooniness of yesterday's side update, here's the cast of Fate Stay/Night + Hollow/Ataraxia more or less. I ended up drawing most of them and some of them aren't very accurate at all, especially the small one next to Rin. Oh well, I think it's good enough for a doodle at Carls Jr. next to an anime con.

In other news, the Penny thread burns vigorously!! Visitors should contribute and write their own Penny-tastic memories or just upload a doodle and show their Inspector Gadget love!

Penny wearing her only other set of clothes, as illustrated by our Official Penny Thread's Official Penny Spriter, Paul Robertson Esquire Senior the Third.

Man, I'm out of stuff to put up. Tomorrow's update will be either really random or something I'll draw at like 4 AM tonight when I don't feel like animating. :/

I can't get the fucking Inspector Gadget theme song out of my mind now
Day five!!

Animation continues!! I was animating a giant robot from an upshot perspective and as I was roughing it out, I was wondering whether it mattered how accurately I drew the rotation of the robot as long as the arcs and mass looked right. Since the robot isn't a living creature, I can't really squash and stretch it too much without losing the feeling of mass, but it's not very fun drawing accurate turning of robotic parts over and over again. Alas, animatio~n.

This next drawing is a character from the visual novel I'm planning. He's sort of the villain character depending on which story arch you go through, and he's basically a homunculus grafted with a human arm. Yeah, he does some crazy shit in the game and it'll be awesome and stuff, yes. Vagu~e.

Depending on what story arch you go through, he wields a fierce electric guitar and wails an almighty guitar solo on top of a mountain as thunder and lighting ignite the fields behind him in giant explosions. Okay, so maybe that doesn't happen.

In other news, there's a super awesome thread going on on the Mecha Fetus forums about Penny from Inspector Gadget. She was the only animated character I ever had a crush on and reminiscing about it brings back the pain of my bitter childhood. ;__;
Penny ;_;
Thanks to Paul for making this and further twisting the knife into my collective soul. ;__; <3

Oh, I also found this doodle page that Victor, Ouendan, and I drew while at Pacific Anime Expo something or other con last year. We were waiting for another friend to get out of a concert so we sat around in the lobby and had really deep and conflicting debates about Type-Moon and all its wonderfully Type-Mooniness. Anyway, this is the monster that we created during those debates. Can you name all the Tsukihime/Melty Blood characters?? Extra points if you can guess who drew which characters! (Victor and Ouendan are excluded from this contest.)

Tomorrow I'll upload a page of Snakes and more Type-Moon doodles!

Canadians are born with +10 art skills than us
Day four of the update week goes!

Yeah, I ran out of things to talk about. ...

I was reading Sharknife today and thought about how Ray draws things all over the place and in a really unintuitive way, but dammit to hell if it isn't stylish up the ass. I suppose this is the real graphic edge that American graphic novels can have compared to manga. It's like the generation of hip art school kids influenced by tv and videogames going out there and making stories regurgitating that, which then go on and influence the same demographic and hand the baton over. I suppose it'd be more meaningful if we were to make stories that actually stemmed from our life experiences and stories from school and friends, but telling personal stories are harder and not nearly as fun to tell as stories about heroes and monsters and shit, right?

More faces and shit.

Man, I wish I was part of that cool Canadian crew from way back. ;_;

Mariel, come back to us, I promise to stop beating you ;__;
Day three of the All Week Updation Spree continues!

So I think I've pretty much nailed down how to draw Snake's face, but only from a 3/4th perspective. Still, I think this is enough to draw him for a comic. Perhaps the next Gamer's Quarter comic will be another Metal Gear one! I'll put up a page of my Snake sketches later this week.

Also, I'm now done with 3 out of 45 shots for my film! Man, I wonder if I'll finish on time. ;_; I'll scan it in and maybe put up a shot of it later this week too.

Also also, development on my graphic novel is going well. My first chapter is scripted out, my character designs are developed, and I'm pretty much set to just draw it out whenever I get the time to. Amazing! It's probably a bad idea to be working on so many projects at once though. :/

Well, anyway, today's drawing came about when Mariel demanded that everyone in The Lodge (which is the bungalo with cubicles where we animate in) draw their rendition of the All American Girl. I usually consider myself pretty crappy at drawing sexy girls but this one came out alright, I think.

Go Go America!Yeah, she's riding a missile into outerspace. I think Mariel mentioned how it looked like one of those cheesy Photoshopped calendar pictures of women in like inappropriately scenic areas, like the tundra or in the middle of a buffalo stampede.

Also, if any of you visitors have a free minute or two, you should vote on this contest here. Voting requires registration so it's kind of annoying, but if you vote for the only drawing that's actually a good illustration, my friend will win Sonic for the Wii and we shall play happily for a few weeks until we throw a Wiimote into the tv screen or something beautiful like that.

Shin Children of Men of War
I just saw Children of Men today! It reminded me of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne at times because of how obviously they staged certain events so symbolically, but it also felt like Gears of War for the later half. I think this story could totally be told in a next gen RPG if there was a game developer that would risk having telling such a story.

Anyway, today's update is a page of caricature sketches I drew in my sketchbook. They're not at all accurate of anybody, but it's kind of fun to look at.

I suppose it's more of a prairie actually.
Man, I just finished animating the first animated scene of my film. It took half a week to do and yet I need to finish seven scenes a week to meet quota. Will I ever make it in time? ;__;

Anyway, I decided to scan some stuff from my sketchbook and upload a different picture everyday for this week to entertain the people who visit this dainty site. Here's today's picture: a stupid comic I drew while waiting for Phil to finish taking a shower.

I've been drawing Snake a lot lately. I'm trying to draw his face accurately instead of the ugly block I've been drawing before. Maybe I'll finally have it down in time for a Metal Gear doujinshi this summer?

Here is a crappy little comic I made to entertain you all for five minutes. Yay!

"Who's a Man? I'm a Man! I'm a Real Man!"
I just drew this for the next issue of The Gamer's Quarter. Man, that Doom Comic is amazing.

In This Update: Persona gets raped by Anime Expo
So I'm pretty frustrated at how completely helpless I am at the Anime Expo registration process. Out of sheer desperation, I sent this email to the address that auto-sends all the forum notices:

Dear Admin:

This registration process is a frustrating mess and I really don't
appreciate how you deleted my last account. I can assure you I am not
a bot but rather a person that wishes to get a table for the Artist
Alley, but has unfortunately registered on the wrong date due to
incorrect information posted on the front page. When I learned that
not only do I require approval to post a request for a refund or even
to PM a moderator, and then discovered that I was instead DELETED for
my efforts, you can imagine how frustrated I am (enough to blindly
email back an auto-email address even).

This whole process is rather unfortunate and incredibly frustrating.

The worst part is that the alternative to this is, to quote the front page:

'"Refund requests may be emailed to the Registration Department ,
faxed to (714) 784-7690, or mailed to the following address:

Anime Expo Refund Request, 1733 S. Douglass Rd. Ste. G, Anaheim, CA 92806

Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing. The SPJA/Anime Expo reserves
the right to issue refunds by check."

Not only does the process take 4-6 weeks, which is not nearly enough
time to get a refund and register for the newly posted deadline of
Friday, January 19th (which was for some reason hidden inside the
forum and NOT posted on the front page where it should have been
posted on January 17th at 7PM), but this "Registration Department
email address" that this refund page alludes to isn't even listed on
the webpage! This is grossly misinformative and negligent on your
parts and incredibly unprofessional of all of you.

I hope, if anything, that this will be fixed next year and a better
system will be in place. Thank you and please approve my forum account ("Persona-sama") so that I may request that this error be fixed.

Yeah, that fucking email address just bounced this shit back. You fucks.

In other news, I drew this picture of Silver (aka Kamon, the rival in Pokemon Gold/Silver) because a thread on /v/ mentioned his greatness. I really did like his character but his character design is just ass ugly.

Fuck, why am I so fucking ugly and girly-looking, wait, what the hell is that giant blue monster behind me?!

Fucking Anime Expo. Fuck.

EDIT: SUP WE GOT A TABLE
MAN I SUCK AT AX, EVERYONE LET US GIVE PROPS TO JANX, PROPS TO YOU PROPS PROPS

A New Year is upon us. A New Year... of chaos.
I changed the scripting for this page so that the randomly generated bar on the right here could totally be randomly generated using one line instead of the previous twenty something. Thanks goes to Nana Komatsu once again for her web-tastic knowledgery.

Besides that, to celebrate the new year, I drew a picture of Haruhi over on the oekaki!

"Yes, this year the SOS-brigade will surely conquer Japan and then... THE WORLD! Kekeke!"

Maybe I should draw a real New Years picture instead, eh?

My dad got me a toy car that transforms and plays Mexican Eurobeat. I wonder how old he thinks I am.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

an irrelevant update
I made a completely Haruhi-infomercial themed post on my livejournal just now. If you're even slightly interested in Haruhism, please visit! We must all stick together for this and work hard to make Haruhism into a giant festering, self-loathing ball of anime fantardism to the likes that shounen shit like Naruto and Bleach has never seen. Come, together we shall make Haruhism into a giant Kagatsuchi of this new world!!

Nyoro~n, mother fucker!!

In other news, internet culture continues to fascinate me endlessly.

EDIT:

Thanks to advice from a Nana Komatsu, I now have an RSS feed of sorts. I don't know if anyone would ever need one for this site, but the option is there for you now!

I've stopped drinking Coke for a week now. The cravings cause shakes.
Brandon linked me on the front page of insert credit! Or rather, he linked my animated videos, I suppose. Regardless, I feel special and loved with a side of pancakes. Thank you, dear cosmic trooper of the journalistic side!

Also, I was at the bookstore today and flipped to the latest issue of Games(tm), and noticed that Tim is still using the drawing I drew for him as his picture. I asked my friend if that means I could consider myself a "published illustrator" and he told me that if he could be a "published novelist" then I could certainly consider myself a "published" whatnot. Incidentally, here's the book my friend wrote. Truly, a great work of modern avante garde transgressional fiction appropriate for the paradigm-breaking minds of tomorrow. (I drew the little scribble that's in the center of the cover!)

Well then, cheerio.

EDIT: Apparently I've been posted on Kotaku too! This makes me question just how much effort major blogs go through to deliver "original" content. Still, I guess I can't complain.

Visual Novel a go go
So I finished a visual novel for a class and decided to upload it for everyone to see! This version runs on both Mac and Windows so everyone can get educated on some machinima.

Here's the zip that has the game. Read the readme for more info!

There's more details about this and more over in this thread:

Yay!

An actual content update!
I added 4 new doodles and 3 new comics!

They're all either homework assignments or random things I drew during classes. If it wasn't for school, I probably wouldn't draw as much as I do now. Well, at least this means for more frequent updates.

By the way, so how does everyone like the new design? Feel free to leave comments on these updates or go talk about it in the Mecha Fetus forum (the link can be found on the bottom of the main Mecha Fetus page. That can be accessed by clicking the little spinning gear in the upper right corner!)

What can one do with internet fame?
I uploaded some of my films on to Youtube for convenience sake!

Here's my first year animated film:

Here's my 48 hour film I did a month ago:

I'm amazed that The Happiest Monster got three awards already on Youtube! I only put it up last night too. I wonder if this will make me internet famous...

This is the first official post!
The new layout is up!

It's been ready for a while now but I was hoping to release everything once I had all the content done. Unfortunately, I never seemed to have gotten around to doing it all so I'm just uploading whatever I've done now. That means no Oekaki section and the Gamesetwatch Comics aren't up yet.

This new layout basically adds this nifty PHP news script so I can update without manually editting the HTML each time in Notepad. :o

Yes, maybe this will mean more updates! Maybe.

...and unfortunately it seems to spread my line breaks really far? This whole thing is rather annoying.
